Today I am starting a new habit - barefoot running. I have been wanting to get back to running for some time now because I enjoy it, and lately I’ve been hearing about more benefits from barefoot running. I decided today to give it a try and I want to record my discoveries here.

This is the first I’ve been out running in several months so I took it easy and only went about a mile this morning. It felt strange walking out of my apartment without any shoes and I as started out the run the pavement hit hard on my feet. I also found my way to several tiny stones throughout the run. I thought about turning around a couple times, but then I thought about the 300 million people around the world who don’t have any pairs of shoes and what they walk around in barefoot on a daily basis. This came from my recent research into the Soles4Souls organization.

Anyway, back to the run. I am surprised at how natural it felt to be back on the road running and after a few minutes I started ignoring the pavement on my feet and barely noticed the tiny stones. The thing that hurt worst was stubbing my toe on the pavement. LOL!

I am excited to get back into running and I will continue running barefoot.

A complete revision of a thesis proposal isn’t significant progress? I beg to differ. A lot of work was done into rewriting that proposal. It may not be up to par and ready to go to the Internal Review Board, but don’t tell that I haven’t made progress when clearly a lot has changed. I’m sorry if I’m not a research person. Seriously, give me a business plan or a marketing plan to write and I’m all over it. I’m an entrepreneur, not a researcher.
